The golf society is a thriving group of mixed ability golfers. We
regularly play together
once a month (on the third Friday) and occasionally for late evening
games. There are many benefits
to joining the society (which costs 20 a year to join). These include:
- playing a wide variety of excellent courses within easy
reach of the village
- meeting like-minded golfers from both East and West Meon
- getting a handicap
- participating in the various competitions we run
(knock-out, club champion, golfer of the year) as well as having
regular prizes at the monthly competitions (overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
front 9, back 9, and 2 or 3 nearest the pins)
- learning the rules of golf in a friendly group
- picking up hints and tips from more experienced golfers
To get round the courses in a timely manner we are playing "ready golf" which are now part of the
new rules.
